Just got back from our 4th of July trip to the nation's capitol. We had a BBQ on the banks of the Potomac River at Bolling Air Force Base, where we could see the main fireworks show in the District on the other side of the river. Close, but not too close.
Other than the thunderstorm, the tornado warning, the high winds, and the police telling everyone to evacuate the waterfront and take cover, it went pretty well. The weather cleared up in time for the fireworks, which was awesome. Because if there's one thing the U.S. knows how to do, it's how to blow stuff up.
