Initially I thought the rumbling was the result of coworkers stampeding into the break room for leftover cake. Then my mom sent me a text that said, "Did you feel the earthquake in LA?" Followed shortly by, "Are you hiding under your desk?"
The LAT is reporting that the jolt was felt in San Diego and Las Vegas. Definitely felt it here in Santa Barbara—I'd say it was a mild, rolling rumble that lasted about 10 seconds.
Thinking of songs for an earthquake mix as I type this.
