fave song friday: "when they fight, they fight"

Generationals is a New Orleans-based duo (made up of ex-Eames Era guitarists Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner) that opened for the Apples in Stereo at Cosmic Charlie's a few weeks ago. We picked up their debut album, Con Law, after the show. What I like about the record is its modern approach to 60s pop—while the songs cross various genres, the production never seems to stray very far from the sounds of that bygone era (think Phil Spector, George Martin). "When They Fight, They Fight" is the lead single from Con Law. It's one of those songs that'll sound good with the car windows rolled down on a lazy July afternoon—I really like its sunny, summery sound and Motown girl group sensibility.
