what to watch on thursday nights

One word: Fringe. I mean, does The Office have parallel universes? Teleportation? Super soldiers? Exploding heads? Leonard Nimoy!? I think not. (Or maybe it does, but what do I know.)

I adore Fringe so much. It’s always creeping me out, making me laugh, boggling my mind, or breaking my heart (Walter in last night's episode: "I simply missed my son." I'm not sure I'll be able to bear the inevitable confrontation between dad and Pacey, I mean, Peter, over that one).

I don't even care all that much anymore about the show treading on X-Files territory. Early in the first season I’d be all, "Hmm, serial killer who takes his victims' pituitary glands in order to sustain himself—uh, been there, done that. Zzzz." But ever since the show really came into its own midway through the first season and blinded me with its preposterously wacky science, I've been more inclined to react like, "Whoa, this started out kind of like 'Pusher,' but they totally turned it into 'Eve'! CRAZY!!"

Now someone just needs to convince Fox to stop being all stupid network-y and move the show back to Tuesdays so it doesn't get killed in the ratings every week.

Ha! I had exactly the same thought about the Pusher/Eve ep. Now it's more like they're sampling X-F than ripping it off. Which can be very interesting.
